About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Nick Self, I am 37 years old and I live in Wiltshire on the western edge of the North Wessex Downs. I am currently a reserve warden at the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust reserve at Morgan's Hill, between Roundway Down and Cherhill Down near Calne. The reserve is an area of semi-natural chalk grassland that is of interest for it's range of orchids and butterflies.

I intend to use this blog as a sort of diary of the reserve, to illustrate and highlight what happens there; why; and at what times. I may also include some posts on other topical issues, which might include farmland birds, habitat management & conservation and more. I also intend to write at least one blog post a week if at all possible.

I should also point out here that this is not an official Wiltshire Wildlife Trust blog. All views are my own and not necessarily those held by the Trust. Thank you.
